Beach House has announced a followup to 2012’s Bloom with a full-length slated for release this summer, titled Depression Cherry. The band recorded the LP in Louisiana at Studio in the Country, and received major contributions from frequent collaborator Chris Coady. In a statement shared through Sub Pop (who will be distributing the record), Victoria Legrand and Alex Scally disclosed details regarding the sound of the album, saying it “shows a return to simplicity, with songs structured around a melody and a few instruments, with live drums playing a far lesser role.” In addition, the band also provided a few quotes which they felt reflected the sentiments of the album. Check out the track list, tour dates and album art below, and visit Sub Pop to read the full statement from the two members of the band, including select lyrics from the forthcoming release.
