Shepard Fairey’s 180′ x 60′ gift to the city of Detroit has been unveiled to the public. The famed street artist’s largest work to date, a mural which comes as part of his work with Library Street Collective, is a simple iteration of his signature style and looks out onto the downtown area of the city. Fairey is a huge fan of Detroit, recently telling The Detroit News that “Everyone here is so enthusiastic. In Detroit, street art isn’t seen as vandalism, but as an enhancement. It’s quite a reversal for me.” Fairey’s ”Printed Matters” exhibition runs at Library Street Collective until late August in the city, more information is available here.
