Following a four-year hiatus, Justin Vernon is planning on reviving his Bon Iver project this summer. The project was officially declared dead in 2013, when Vernon told Australia’s Triple J Radio, “I don’t really write songs anymore… I really have to be in a specific headspace to even begin to illuminate an idea that would create another Bon Iver record, and I’m just not there.” However, in an interview with Minneapolis station KARE 11, the Bon Iver frontman expressed interest in reviving the band to headline his inaugural Eaux Claires Music & Arts Festival, which will be held in Vernon’s home of Wisconsin from July 17 to July 18. “It’s the perfect platform for us to be like, ‘This is how we’re starting this new cycle, new life of the band’… It makes so much sense to start it here.”
