Ronnie Fieg has had quite the year – after revamping KITH’s Brooklyn location with longtime collaborator Snarkitecture, the label went on to release the ambitious “City Never Sleeps” collection. Developed in tandem with esteemed brands such as New Balance and Reigning Champ, the NYC imprint has been making serious strides forward. Rounding off 2015, KITH has just debuted its inaugural womenswear collection along with the announcement of a new women’s store to open in New York. Tapping a Public School alum to lead the design team, Ronnie describes the new range as more athleisure than streetwear. Not wanting to simply rework pieces “borrowed from the boys,” the latest offering is a distinct selection of pieces that are constructed with comfortable and high-performing fabrics with the “day-to-day” routine in mind.
For its new women’s storefront, situated immediately across the street from its Manhattan flagship, KITH has worked with Snarkitecture to create a stunning space of 400 square feet. Dressed almost entirely in stark custom white marble, the interior underscores the clean and minimalistic design that Daniel Arsham’s studio has become known for. With a matching marble wall installed to hold over 120 pairs of women’s shoes, visitors can look forward to a truly unparalleled shopping experience. Far from living in the shadows of its menswear counterpart, KITH’s new venture promises to be a dynamic new addition to the label’s roster. The KITH womenswear collection drops on December 18 at 11 a.m. ET and will be available both at its new storefront and at KithNYC.com.
