New Balance Revamps the 530 Runner With a Vazee Edition
The ’90s runner gets a 2016 update.

To this day New Balance‘s safe, comfortable and more importantly consistent designs have always been the shoe manufacturer’s calling card, which have remained relatively the same since the ’90s. NB footwear surged in popularity this year in particular, and not just overseas to our friends in Japan; the “dad” shoe had found its place in 2015.
In an uncharacteristically bold move, NB now reintroduces a modern version of its 530 runner, revamping the model complete with new technology, colorway and campaign. Officially donning a White, Black and Purple colorway (which seems more blue than purple to the eye), the modernized 530 is shot here by New York City street photographer Aaron Pegg (@underground_nyc) against the backdrop of NYC’s underground network of subway system. Since its release in the ’90s, the 530 has been reiterated a number of times but no edition boasts contemporary technology like this silhouette’s additional Vazee sole unit — NB’s latest cushioning system.
Ring in the new year by grabbing a pair of these 530s on January 1 from New Balance accounts for $100 USD.
