Steven Spielberg Reunites With Universal Studios in Formidable Partnership
Expect to see much more from the household name.
Having released blockbusters such as Jaws, Jurassic Park, E.T. and Schindler’s List together, Steven Spielberg and Universal Studios have announced a new partnership to solidify their lucrative relationship. This news comes after Universal’s most successful year to date at the box office, breaking records with $5.53 billion USD in earnings thanks to Jurassic World and Furious 7. The partnership will take the form of a new company called Amblin Partners, in collaboration with Spielberg’s own DreamWorks Studios, Participant Media, Entertainment One and Reliance Entertainment, while Universal and Focus Features will distribute and market between 4-7 Amblin films each year. The first film under this new scheme will be The Girl on the Train, starring Emily Blunt and Justin Theroux and set to release in October 7 next year.
