Seiko Prospex has expanded its motorsport-inspired lineup with two new timepieces: the Heritage Motoring Countdown Speedtimer in Powder Blue (HBC003) and Petrol Blue (HBC004). Drawing inspiration from Seiko’s groundbreaking 1969 Speedtimer – the world’s first automatic chronograph equipped with both a vertical clutch and column wheel – these new releases bring a refined 1970s automotive aesthetic to a modern, time-and-date format.
The Powder Blue draws from Seiko’s 1972 “Panda” chronograph, featuring a flowing case shape and a light blue dial beneath curved sapphire crystal. A countdown timer with Lumibrite detailing enhances clarity, reinforcing its motorsport‑ready functionality. Meanwhile, the Petrol Blue HBC004 channels the neo‑classic “young‑timer” cars of the 1970s. Its rich petrol blue dial is paired with a sustainable LWG‑approved leather strap embossed with patterns inspired by vintage car interiors, creating a strong connection to automotive heritage.
Housed in a compact, versatile 39.5mm stainless steel case AND measuring 12mm in thickness, the watches run on Seiko’s in-house 6R55 automatic movement.
