BEAMS BOY and Clarks have rebuilt the Desert Trek for wet weather, fitting the long-running silhouette with a GORE-TEX membrane in a new special-order model. The collaboration keeps the shoe’s familiar shape while reengineering what protects and supports the foot, aimed at year-round, all-conditions wear.
The weatherproofing is the headline change. The build integrates GORE-TEX for all-weather coverage, the source’s stated case for wearing it through rain without hesitation, turning a traditionally fair-weather silhouette into something more rugged.
Underfoot, the shoe uses a two-layer setup. A high-grip Vibram outsole is paired with a crepe midsole, and that stacked construction is what recreates the distinctive volume of the original Desert Trek rather than flattening it out. The leather upper is chosen to age with wear, gaining character the longer it’s worn.
Smaller details carry the collaboration’s fingerprints.
