BEAMS and The North Face Purple Label have joined on a special-order Reversible Down Jacket that packs two distinct looks into a single shell. Designed to be worn either way out, the piece swaps between an outdoor-leaning down face and a trimmer, more tailored one depending on how it is turned.
The construction is the entire pitch. One face is worked with pronounced quilting stitches for a sportier, technical down look, while flipping it inside out reveals a minimal surface cut closer to a flight jacket, giving the wearer two silhouettes to move between as the outfit or mood calls for it.
That versatility is backed by a layered material makeup. The shell is built from full polyester, the reverse pairs nylon with cotton, and the loft comes from a down-led fill blended with rayon and feather. Trim details are specced separately, with a nylon collar and cuffs and hem reinforced with a nylon base and traces of polyurethane for stretch and recovery.
The jacket sits within The North Face Purple Label, the long-running line that pairs the outdoor giant with Japanese label nanamica, a collaboration known for reworking technical mountain staples into softer, city-ready cuts. BEAMS’ special-order treatment extends that logic, taking an already design-forward platform and adding a reversible twist unique to the retailer.
