Independent Swiss watch brand Berneron has revealed the Mirage Miroir, an openworked evolution of its signature asymmetric dress watch. Produced in extremely limited numbers, the Mirage Miroir is defined by its asymmetry, drawn not from external design but from the mechanics themselves. The new “mirrored construction” approach reimagines openworking, with bridges and mainplate architecture designed to guide the eye and serve as visual markers for reading the time. Crafted entirely in 18K gold, the watch embodies discreet luxury and refined elegance.
At the heart of the Mirage Miroir lies the Calibre 283, Berneron’s fourth in‑house movement. Measuring just 2.83 mm thick, it features an inverted hand set with the hour hand on top, a free‑sprung balance wheel, and a 72‑hour power reserve. The seconds counter is deliberately omitted to maximize the openwork design, with the rotating seconds wheel itself acting as a running indicator. Decorative techniques such as guillochage, anglage and laser engraving elevate the movement’s architectural presence, underscoring Berneron’s commitment to artisanal craft.
Reflecting Berneron’s commitment to high quality and limited production, each colorway will be produced at a rate of 36 pieces per year over a 10-year cycle (Series A), with initial deliveries slated to begin in October 2027. Water-resistant to 30 meters, the watch is topped with a scratch-resistant coated Hesalite crystal and can be configured on either a Barenia leather strap or a matching 20mm 18K solid gold bracelet. Pricing for the Mirage Miroir is set at 72,500 CHF (approx. $89,528 USD) on the leather strap and 130,250 CHF (approx. $160,842 USD) on the solid gold bracelet.
