Continuing the late visionary’s profound legacy of open-source creativity, the Virgil Abloh Archive™ (V.A.A.) has officially announced its latest major initiatives. Starting today, fans, students, and established creatives worldwide can secure their copies of The Virgil Reader Vol. 001 and sign up for the brand-new Archive Membership, marking a massive step in making Abloh’s expansive body of work accessible to the public.

Originally unveiled at “The Codes” exhibition in Paris, the V.A.A. houses over 20,000 objects from Abloh’s unprecedented multidisciplinary career. Ranging from fashion prototypes and original sketches to digital media and materials from his personal library, the collection is privately stewarded by Shannon Abloh. The overarching mission of the Archive is deeply rooted in Virgil’s fundamental belief that ideas are most powerful when they are shared widely and built upon by others.

Translating that exact ethos into print, The Virgil Reader Vol. 001 serves as the Archive’s inaugural publication. The book offers a comprehensive deep dive into Abloh’s creative process, cultural commentary, and design thinking. Featuring a foreword by i-D editor Thom Bettridge, the volume compiles foundational interviews and features from heavy-hitting publications like 032c, The Business of Fashion and System Magazine—all faithfully reprinted in their original layouts and designs.

“Virgil believed deeply in sharing knowledge and opening doors, the Archive and Foundation are my commitment to carrying that forward, making his work accessible, contextualized, and meaningful for future generations,” shared Shannon Abloh, Co-Founder and CEO of Virgil Abloh Securities.

Further expanding this open-door policy, the V.A.A. has also launched a free public membership platform. By signing up, members are immediately welcomed into the ecosystem, receiving a digital excerpt from the Reader, the official Archive newsletter, and priority access to future announcements, releases, and events.

To properly celebrate the launch and foster the connectivity that Abloh championed, the Archive is hosting a special two-day activation in Los Angeles on Saturday, March 14, and Sunday, March 15. The event will feature curated talks, readings, and screenings centered around the new publication and what the community can expect next from the V.A.A. Free sign-up is available via VirgilAbloh.com and pre-orders are available here.
