The Air Jordan Spizike, a tribute to Spike Lee’s outsized influence on Jordan Brand throughout the 1980s and 90s, is the latest silhouette to make the jump from the court to the fairway. While it’s never been the most obvious or celebrated model in the Jordan archive, its arrival as a golf shoe actually makes sense given the storytelling gravity attached to its namesake.
Originally released in 2006, the Spizike was conceived as a cultural remix: a single shoe built to honor Spike Lee’s role in shaping the Jordan universe. Even its name reflects that intent, fusing “Spike” and “Mike” into one hybrid identity. That same mashup energy defines the shoe’s design as the Spizike pulls visual cues from five different Air Jordan silhouettes including the 3, 4, 5, 6 and 9.
From a technical standpoint, the Spizike G is built on familiar ground. Its tooling and overall structure borrow from Jordan models that have already undergone the court-to-fairway transition like the AJ 9, AJ 14 and Air Jordan 4 Golf. The result is a boot-like silhouette that feels sturdy underfoot, reinforced for waterproof play and constructed with a premium leather upper.
The debut white, pure platinum and obsidian colorway relies on neutral tones and subtle contrast. The signature elephant print panels provide most of the visual texture, while the heel tabs serve as a secondary anchor featuring Spike Lee’s illustrated face and the word “Brooklyn” beneath it. The Air Jordan Spizike G is set to release on January 1, with additional colorways expected throughout the new year.
