The Macallan Edit Spotlighted Chef and Designer Veronica González

To close out The Macallan Edit, Curated by Hypebeast, the whisky purveyor hosted an elaborate dining experience at SoHo’s Pearl Box, led by celebrated chef and industrial designer Verónica González. The Macallan Edit was a unique retail and lounge experience that blended design, food, and culture, inviting guests to unwind, take a step back and savor the flavors and sounds of the holiday season.

Veronica González hails from an industrial design background, but with her food-art studio Ananas Ananas, co-founded with Elena Petrossian, González explores the concept of space and function through edible visual designs that are equally impressive in the culinary department. Ananas Ananas explores dining as a multisensory, experimental medium that ignites all senses. A chic dining setup immediately invited guests to indulge in a sense of luxury, with craft cocktails and neat pours spotlighting The Macallan Timeless Collection handed at the door.

The experience was replete with retail opportunities, where guests could browse, taste, and customize their on-site purchases, with additional engraving and monogram stations for those seeking to create one-of-a-kind gifts for friends and family. González’s anticipated dinner, punctuated by a series of artisanal courses, complemented The Macallan’s seasonal cocktail menu. Standout dishes included the savory starter Brown-Butter and Crispy Sage Tartine and a stunning King Oyster Steak with Fennel and Citrus as a main entree. The dishes were delicately presented on branded tableware with a live DJ set performed by Stonie Blue to complement the evening.

For dessert, González treated guests to an immaculate Creme Fraiche Panna Cotta with Poached Apples, finding many guests in a pleasant food coma. Embracing intentional experiences that illuminate community and inspire seasonal camaraderie, The Macallan Edit was a weekend-long party series that invited the city’s tastemakers to experience the holiday rush in an elevated, lounge atmosphere that perfectly encapsulated the charm of NYC.
