Peaky Blinders is returning with two new series from original writer and creator Steven Knight.

Netflix and BBC officially announced the news, revealing six, one-hour episodes for each series. These events will take place after the Peaky Blinders feature film, which is currently in post-production. The logline reads:

“Britain, 1953. After being heavily bombed in WWII, Birmingham is building a better future out of concrete and steel. In a new era of Steven Knight’s Peaky Blinders, the race to own Birmingham’s massive reconstruction project becomes a brutal contest of mythical dimensions. This is a city of unprecedented opportunity and danger, with the Shelby family right at its blood-soaked heart.”

Original Peaky Blinders star Cillian Murphy will take on an executive producer role, alongside Karen Wilson and Martin Haines (Kudos), Jamie Glazebrook (Garrison Drama), Jo McClellan (BBC) and Mona Qureshi and Toby Bentley for Netflix.

“I’m thrilled to be announcing this new chapter in the Peaky Blinders story. Once again it will be rooted in Birmingham and will tell the story of a city rising from the ashes of the Birmingham blitz. The new generation of Shelbys have taken the wheel and it will be a hell of a ride,” Knight said in a statement.

The upcoming Peaky Blinders movie continues the storyline of the original series, with Murphy, Stephen Graham, Sophie Rundle, Ned Dennehy, Packy Lee and Ian Peck reprising their roles. Rebecca Ferguson, Tim Roth, Jay Lycurgo, and Barry Keoghan will also star.

Stay tuned for the official trailers and release dates.
