After naming Atiba Jefferson as Vans’ Brand Curator in the middle of last year, OTW by Vans announces the latest collaboration with him, one of the most impactful photographers and culture storytellers in skateboarding history.

The collaboration reimagines the timeless Authentic 44 silhouette, featuring black-and-white photos of legendary skater John Cardiel and musician Franz Lyons taken by Jefferson, printed across the upper to the sole and lining of each foot. These images express the influence of Jefferson across the skateboarding and music scenes by telling stories of these two icons. Aside from the pictures printed all over the shoe, there is only a subtle co-branding on the insole, written “ATIBA” that sits above the logo of OTW by Vans.

This model is a piece of artwork that fully captures Jefferson’s unique identity in skateboarding culture and his artistic view of the world.
