Tanner Fletcher SS26 Staged A Heartwarming Family Affair

Along with bringing Tanner and Fletcher’s real family out for the finale, the theatrical runway show debuted HOKA’s Bondi Mary Jane silhouette and a collaborative Etsy-exclusive home line.

Tanner Fletcher took its NYFW SS26 runway show to new heights, staging a theatrical production within the ornate walls of the historic Capitale building, built in 1893. In fact, co-designers Tanner Richie and Fletcher Kasell broke the fourth wall, appearing on stage ahead of the models, backed by a set depicting an in-progress move.

With props from Tanner Fletcher’s matching Etsy line and supported by hardhat-wearing Taskrabbit taskers, the boldly adorned models filed out of a branded moving truck. A mixture of men’s and women’s looks transformed traditional home fabrics through the brand’s dramatic silhouettes, rooted in tailored early 20th-century styles and craft-forward ornamentation, such as lace, ruffled trims, crochet, and, of course, plenty of bows.

Off the bat, the first men’s look comprised a ruched and ruffled tracksuit with black HOKA Bondi Mary Janes — a precursor to the rest of the line, where fashion’s binaries are challenged in sheer bonnets, long skirts, pantless looks, pussy bow collars. These sensibilities made Tanner Fletcher’s stage the ideal tie-in for the HOKA Bondi Mary Jane, which made its runway debut at the show. Along with some models, the uniformed Taskrabbit taskers each wore a pair of HOKA’s new bow-decorated fusion silhouette, a follow-up to the HOKA Speed Loafer.

The footwear brand’s formal-fusion shoes were a fitting addition to the garments, which intermixed historical and gendered codes. However, womenswear is where the dramatizations reached their climax. In one number, a peach satin nightgown and robe are blown to gigantic proportions, trailing the model as she walks. Then, at the finale, a model wearing a voluminous turn-of-the-century evening dress dragged a matching floral curtain behind her as she made her way down the runway.

Once the re-decorated set was finally complete, Tanner and Fletcher re-emerged with members of their immediate families: mothers, fathers, and siblings, as well as extended family in the audience, seated side by side in a full row. Taking their final bow surrounded by family, the designers evoke the age-old saying that “it takes a village” not only to pull off an NYC apartment move-in, but also to orchestrate the moving parts of such an elaborate runway show, and to establish a strong presence in the epicenter of American fashion — all things Tanner Fletcher has proved with its latest presentation.

The Tanner Fletch x Etsy Re-Decorating Home collection and curated shop is available now on Etsy, and HOKA’s Bondi Mary Jane, which made its first-ever public appearance as part of the runway, will be available on October 1 at HOKA.com and select retailers. Pieces Tanner Fletcher’s SS26 are expected to drop at the brand’s official webstore as the season approaches.
