Conceived by Vans special projects team designer Greg Betty, the upcoming Vans Premium Authentic 44 “Ibiza Pack” pushes the iconic low-top silhouette into eccentric, avant-garde territory.
Drawing dual inspiration from the rustic texture of the luxury Loewe Ibiza Tote and the vivid hues of Mediterranean sunsets, the design masterfully infuses Vans’ historical punk-grunge influences into an offbeat, handmade aesthetic. The upper is defined by an unconventional split-material construction; the front half features clean suede – available in black, navy, or dark burgundy bases – while the rear half transitions into a shaggy, loose-thread woven textile.
This messy, multicolored fiber configuration weaves together shades of rust, yellow, purple and orange to give the shoe an intentionally pre-worn, heavily texturized finish. Adding a brilliant point of visual subversion, a delicate, floral-style trim lines the interior collar, offering a soft, unexpected contrast against the rugged materials.
