Donald Glover knows how to bring even his wildest dreams into existence – be it a Childish Gambino project, an Atlanta episode, or, for the first time, a Moncler Genius collection.
After debuting his Moncler partnership at Moncler’s Shanghai “City of Genius” spectacle back in the fall, the constantly evolving creative juggernaut has lifted the curtain on his collaborative Moncler collection. With Glover at the helm of the design process, he suited up some of Moncler’s most notable silhouettes for a Southern Californian summer, imbuing the orange-hued Ojai energy of his very own Gilga Farm creative collective into every piece.

While the vibrant shades stand out strongly at first glance, with bright oranges lined up against creams, blues, and pinks, it’s actually functionality that exists at the core of the collaboration.
With Gilga Farm’s motto being “The world revolves around your usefulness. Use that to move into what you are,” Glover’s Moncler Genius presentation prioritizes practicality above all else.
“Functionality is key — it’s something that connects the world of Gilga and Moncler, we both create for real-world usefulness,” Glover explains of the collection’s guiding principle, harkening all the way back to Moncler’s earliest designs in building out the new range.
“The sleeping bag is one of the first products Moncler ever made, which inspired our sleeping bag jacket, but also led to a collection of summer fits grounded in real value,” Glover continues, citing the centerpiece of the collection: a hero duvet jacket that transforms into a sleeping bag.
Other jacketing silhouettes include a suede jacket stamped with a Gilga Farm patch at the chest and lightweight nylon ripstop windbreakers. On the footwear front, the duo delivers a collaborative take on the Moncler Trailgrip Vela sandal, sturdily equipped with a Vibram sole.
Moncler’s mascot, Monduck, is even reinterpreted as a farmer to fit the part.
