Wizards of the Coast is preparing to host its debut showcase for Magic: The Gathering – FINAL FANTASY, taking the stage at PAX East in just a couple of hours. The expansion, which was first announced back in October, features characters from 16 FINAL FANTASY games, combining with the world of Magic.
Ahead of the special unveiling event, we’re here with an exclusive reveal of five cards based on FINAL FANTASY VII. Four different versions of Secret Rendezvous depict Cloud on the skywheel at the Gold Saucer amusement park, partnered with Tifa, Yuffie, Aerith, or Barrett respectively.
As for the first card pictured, it is part of the Magic: The Gathering – FINAL FANTASY Through the Ages collection, which recreates iconic Magic cards through the lens of FINAL FANTASY. This particular card sees Sephiroth as Atraxa, Grand Unifier and is illustrated by legendary FINAL FANTASY artist Tetsuya Nomura.
