The C.P. Company x Sashiko Gals Collaboration Preserves Traditional Techniques
The drop will be available exclusively in Japan.
C.P. Company and Sashiko Gals have teamed up for the first time to release an ultra-limited 15-piece capsule collection. Sashiko Gals, an Ootsuchi-based project, aims to preserve the traditional Japanese tailoring technique “sashiko,” which is used primarily for clothing repair.
The project began in 2024 as an effort to raise relief funds for recovery and repairs still in process from the Great East Japan Earthquake. The group currently employs 15 traditional artisans who handcraft bespoke pieces.
For the collaboration, the artisans have individually altered C.P. Company jackets using the sashiko technique. The base jacket, which is made of the brand’s signature Chrome-R fabric, features a full zip, and three additional hand-sewn pockets using upcycled materials, including “FLATT NYLON,” “CO-TED,” and “TAYLON P.” The 15 jackets are available in three colors: olive, black, and cobalt blue.
Each piece retails for ¥115,000 JPY (approximately $764 USD). The C.P. Company x Sashiko Gals collaboration pop-up will run from April 5-April 9 at Isetan Shinjuku Men’s Building on the sixth floor. It looks like currently, these pieces won’t be available outside of Japan, but in the meantime, you can check out C.P. Company’s latest Palace collab, and stay tuned to Hypebeast for more updates.
