Omar Afridi and Vuja Dé Present "NOIR"
Working exclusively with the color black, the two emerging labels blend their unique approach to design in an exercise of restraint.
Summary
- Omar Afridi and Vuja Dé have combined British and Japanese styles to craft an all-black capsule collection that focuses on materiality and silhouette
- Named “NOIR,” the four-piece range is made up of a blouson, denim pant, studded belt, and leather bag
- It just launched today at a pop-up hosted at the Omar Afridi London store and will be available again tomorrow
Omar Afridi and Vuja Dé, despite operating on opposite sides of the planet, are a perfect match. The two up-and-coming labels serve a common demographic: people who dig tirelessly through stores and webpages to find cutting-edge designs. Both brands, while based in London and Japan respectively, have garnered a growing global audience that is receptive to their unique propositions. Now, they’ve turned specifically to London to host the debut of a new collaborative collection, “NOIR.”
The worlds of Omar Afridi and Vuja Dé have collided in a unique way, stripping their broad vernaculars to an all-black palette that the two identify as an “exercise of restraint.” As a result, rich textures and striking silhouettes stand tall throughout the range. Highlighted first is the Harvey Paneled Blouson, which makes a statement not in color, but its double-weave suede construction and precise, architecture-inspired paneling. Meanwhile, the Rudo Coated Denim Pant is covered in irregular matte and semi-gloss coatings that fractures over time, allowing each pair to age in its own way. Two leather accessories complete the collection: the Owen Studded Leather Belt and Newman Leather Bag.
The Omar Afridi x Vuja Dé “NOIR” pop-up opened today at the Omar Afridi London store. It continues tomorrow and features all four pieces from the collaborative collection.
