Summary

  • Nike Structure, the brand’s stability-oriented category of running shoes, is growing with the introduction of the Structure Plus
  • The shoe features ZoomX and ReactX technology, offering ample cushioning and energy return while maintaining an emphasis on stability thanks to an innovative midfoot support system
  • Look out for the new model to debut worldwide on January 8 via running specialty stores before a wider launch on February 5

Nike Running operates with three pillars informing its footwear offerings. The Vomero category is centered around cushioning, the Pegasus franchise is built around responsiveness, and the Structure emphasizes stability. Earlier this year, the Structure 26 debuted with a new innovative midfoot support system that wraps the medial arch and lateral heel for stability. Now, this same system is present with the upcoming Structure Plus sneaker.

In addition to the aforementioned support anatomy, the Structure Plus features a combination of ZoomX and ReactX cushioning, a first for the Structure lineup. This ensures a plush step and ample energy return while still sticking to the Structure’s DNA to support everyday training and long runs. Looking closer at the upper, structural overlays secure the foot while an engineered mesh upper has been prepared with zonal breathability. Meanwhile, the collar and tongue are each plush in form. Circling back to the sole unit, high-abrasion rubber is included at the heel to prioritize traction and durability. As for the forefoot, the inclusion of blown rubber is both soft and gives a good ground feel. When comparing the Structure Plus to the Structure 26, Nike notes that the Plus offers “more energy return, a different underfoot sensation, and increased softness and cushioning.”

For those looking to try out the new running shoe, it is currently scheduled to debut on January 8 via running specialty stores. From there, it will drop via Nike and additional retail spots on February 5.
