NANZUKA is hosting SORAYAMA: Light, Transparency, Reflection -TOKYO-, the largest retrospective exhibition yet for the legendary artist Hajime Sorayama. This show is designed to be an immersive journey through his career, focusing on the core concepts of “light,” “transparency” and “reflection” present in his artwork.

The exhibition, which blends representative past works with his latest sculptures and video installations, will be organized into nine distinct sections. Key highlights include “The Gallery,” featuring his recent large-scale canvases, and “Aquarium,” which showcases his iconic shark sculpture, famously called “the sexiest fish.” Interactive installations are also featured, such as “TREX,” inspired by the dinosaur series Sorayama admired in his childhood, and the “Mirror Maze,” which contains reflective sculptures. A deep archival look is available in the “Archive Room,” which displays original drawings for the Sony AIBO robot dog, alongside his collaborations with major brands like Dior and Roger Dubuis.

Aiming to provide a profound insight into Sorayama’s dedication to physical beauty and technological expression, the exhibition will run from March 14 to May 31 at CREATIVE MUSEUM TOKYO.
