'GTA VI' Release Date Postponed Again
The wait continues…
Summary
- Grand Theft Auto VI is one of the video game industry’s most anticipated releases of all time
- After an initial delay to its launch date, Rockstar Games has shared that GTA VI will now be releasing next November
- Look out for it to arrive on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on November 29, 2026
Has there ever been a video game release as anticipated as Grand Theft Auto VI? With estimates saying it could earn $10 billion USD in its lifetime, the hype has been one-of-a-kind. However, one thing continues to muddy the excitement: delays.
Many top titles have faced release date pushbacks over the years and Rockstar Games has not been able to avoid this, with GTA VI‘s original Fall 2025 launch period knocked back to May 2026 earlier this year. Now, the studio has shared a precise release date, four months later than previously expected. In a news post addressed to fans, Rockstar Games stated:
“Grand Theft Auto VI will now release on Thursday, November 19, 2026. We are sorry for adding additional time to what we realize has been a long wait, but these extra months will allow us to finish the game with the level of polish you have come to expect and deserve.”
At the time of writing, the wait for Grand Theft Auto VI is once again over a year. Look out for it to release on Thursday, November 29 of next year for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Stay tuned for updates as more trailers (and hopefully not more release date delays) are shared ahead of the much-anticipated launch.
