LaQuan Smith SS25 Proves That Glamour Comes in Many Forms
The Queens-based designer aimed to outfit the LaQuan Smith woman throughout her entire day — from the 9-5 to a late night party vibe.
LaQuan Smith left it all on the runway, giving guests a show full of flamboyant moments, compelling looks, and lots of ostrich feathers. The collection could only be described as effortlessly sexy, debuting a series of cut-out bodysuits, sheer dresses, and power suits. Each model who commanded the runway was granted a newfound sense of vigor through each striking ensemble.
Bringing some of fashion’s best to Brooklyn, the Spring/Summer 25 show featured models Taylor Hill, Winnie Harlow, Ian Jeffrey, and more. An upbeat, rock-inspired soundtrack came through the speakers, setting the tone for each head-turning look — of which there were 50, because Smith always aims to do it big.
The range’s inspiration stemmed from the designer putting his own spin on clubwear, but taking that endeavor one step further by also aiming to dress the LaQuan Smith woman all through the day — providing powerful trench coats and catsuits for when she’s on the move — maybe she’s catching a meeting or getting business done — and after the work is done, it’s time to play.
These day time pieces included relaxed fit trousers, jackets, and denim pieces that can easily be elevated with the addition of bold accessories or outerwear. Showing a new side to the quintessential LaQuan Smith wearer, the designer proves that glamour comes in many forms.
