JiyongKim Returns to Seongsu With Sixth Seasonal Exhibition
Featuring a large-scale textile installation on the building’s façade.
Earlier on in the week, JiyongKim officially unveiled its sixth seasonal exhibition in Seongsu, a trendy neighborhood that has been touted by many as the “Brooklyn of Seoul.” The latest exhibition also marks a full circle for the Seoul-based label, as its first exhibition was also held at the very same location just over two years ago.
Simply named Exhibiton #6, designer Jiyong Kim had installed a large-scale textile installation on the building’s façade, offering visitors a sense of the brand’s core philosophy and DNA. Throughout the rest of its exhibiting days, the fabric gradually becomes bleached by the sun, thus achieving a distinct pattern and effect that the brand is known for.
Inside the building, a myriad of artworks and exhibits that showcase the development process of JiyongKim’s offerings are displayed. Visitors can also participate in guided tours on the ground floor to learn more about the brand’s vision and craft. Over on the second floor, visitors can take home a piece of the brand at the shop, which offers seasonal merchandise as well as various pieces from JiyongKim’s SS24 and FW24 collections.
From September 3 – 29, the exhibition opens every day from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m., but will be closed during the Chuseok Holiday between September 16- 18.
