The Macallan’s $190k USD TIME: SPACE Pairs Whiskies From 1940 and 2018
Celebrating the distillery’s 200th anniversary.

The Macallan is celebrating its 200th anniversary with one of its most expensive whiskies to date. The Scotch distillery has unveiled TIME : SPACE, a $190,000 USD whisky ornately bottled in a dual chamber.
Dating back to 1940, one chamber features whisky that was matured for over eight decades and just bottled this year. It contains notes of charred pineapple, baked peaches, crystallized ginger, aniseed, blackberry jam, woodsmoke, resin and caramelized sugar.
In the other chamber is a 2018 whisky, representing the future of the distillery, with notes of golden sultanas, baked apples, lemon and lime. Both were matured over the years in sherry-seasoned oak casks.
As for the vessel itself, two red chambers hold the whiskies: the outer chamber is a ring-shaped decanter containing the 1940, while the inner chamber is a removable decanter with the 2018. Surrounding the chambers is an oak sculpture with spikes resembling nature’s protection.
Only 200 units of The Macallan’s TIME : SPACE are available, priced at $190,000 USD each.
