Fousheé Feels It All on 'pointy heights'
Paying homage to her family history on the 10-track, no-features LP.
Fousheé‘s sophomore album is here at last. After unveiling a slate of entrancing singles – spanning “still around,” “war,” “100 bux” and “feel like home” – the songstress has revealed her long-awaited pointy heights LP, which signals a severe yet highly intentional sonic shift from softCORE, in full.
“i keep thinking about what i want this to be remembered for but mostly i just want it to remembered for this album to be lived in & grown with no features, no writers. just a tree and it’s the roots showing you who i am by showing you where i come from. i hope you see a little of you in this,” Fousheé wrote of the 10-track, R&B-tinged album on Instagram.
“to the diaspora, you don’t have to be born there for it to be home. to any place that feels like home. to any person that makes you feel like home. it’s all pointy heights. in loving memory of pointy & Michelle.” The project pays homage to Fousheé’s family, named after a plot of land her grandfather owns in Jamaica.
Prior to pointy heights’ release, Fousheé was in her feature bag, hopping on Childish Gambino‘s Bando Stone & The New World and Steve Lacy’s Gemini Rights – Lacy, a longtime friend and collaborator of Fousheé’s, contributed ample production to pointy heights.
