Kano Selected His Pick of London Artists At Intimate Live Show
Special guests, live sets, and the latest adidas gear from JD Sports came together for a celebration of style and sound.
adidas Originals and JD Sports took to London to celebrate its youth culture’s creativity through an intimate live show curated by brand ambassador and rapper-actor Kano. Known for pioneering grime culture and starting his own Caribbean rum brand Duppy Share, Kano is no stranger to evolving and innovating while paying homage to his roots.
Teaming up with independent radio platform Balamii, Kano hand-selected nine artists and DJs to create a set of the UK’s best. The selection included Bashy, Skrapz, HOPE, Enny and Grace Acladna, and guest DJs Plastician, Izzy Bossy and Kim Turnball. The artists represent a mix of cultures and influences, reminiscent of the melting pot of London.
Omeara was transformed for the evening, basked in Balamii’s signature blue alongside projected footage of iconic grime and rap artists through the ages. Those lucky enough to attend drank custom cocktails shaken with Kano’s signature rum while Young MasterChef judge and Chef Big Has created his own spin on the classic kebab. Elevating the dish with BBQ lamb, chips and salsa rossa, Chef Big Has used Kano’s roots as a focal point.
The event wasn’t just a celebration of music and style, but a testament to the power of collaboration and cultural pride. By bringing together a diverse lineup of artists, DJs, and creatives, adidas Originals and JD Sports honored the rich tapestry of the UK’s influence on youth culture. From the music to the food, every detail paid homage to the city’s creative pulse, leaving guests inspired and eager for what’s next.
