Update: At last, Nike SB’s collaboration with The Wizard of Oz across the SB Dunk Low is nearly here. The long-awaited drop has been officially unveiled by the Swoosh, highlighting its vivid poppy field-inspired colorway that we described previously in detail below. Release is now set to take place on December 19 via select skate shops with a wider drop scheduled for December 23 via Nike SNKRS at a starting price of $135 USD.

Update: We caught an early preview of a new The Wizard of Oz x Nike SB Dunk Low project last month, revealing not only its poppy field-inspired upper, but its ruby slipper-based layer that rests beneath the shoe’s outermost layers. Now, we have an on-foot preview of the sneaker as we anticipate its launch later this year. The unique color composition is sure to catch eyes this season as the pair is set to drop by the end of 2024 via Nike SNKRS and select skate shops at a price of $135 USD.

Update: New photos of the The Wizard of Oz-inspired x Nike SB Dunk Low reveal a tearaway-style upper, revealing a “Red Ruby Slipper” underlayer. Beneath the floral print, the majority of the upper features the same bright red as the Swoosh, using the flower pattern to create a contrast between the shoe’s panels.

On the back of the shoe, the words “No place like home” are stitched in gold thread. The sneaker is also now reported to be dropping on December 25.

Original Story: For Nike SB, the SB Dunk Low remains on top as its most prominent silhouette. The sneaker was just highlighted in a collaboration with There Skateboards, and is now set to be presented in a The Wizard of Oz-themed colorway later this year, perhaps to coincide with the release of Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo’s Wicked.

This isn’t the first time the SB Dunk Low has drawn inspiration from the Oz franchise as a “Dorothy” colorway of the silhouette released back in 2015. For 2024, a first look at the pair reveals that the shoe will be covered in a poppy field-inspired look of orange, red, yellow, green and black that draws from the 1939 film’s scene where Dorothy and The Cowardly Lion fall asleep in the field. Additional detailing includes the Wicked Witch of the West at the sockliner and Dorothy’s “No Place Like Home,” quote at the heel.

At the time of writing, the Nike SB team has not announced that this collaboration with The Wizard of Oz featuring the SB Dunk Low will be releasing. However, it is currently expected to drop later this year via Nike SNKRS and select skate shops at a starting price of $135 USD. Stay tuned for updates, including official imagery of the kicks, as we await more info.
