Grand Seiko Reveals Two More Caliber 9R 20th Anniversary Limited Editions
With dials depicting the ephemeral and autumnal beauty of the Hotaka mountain range.
Continuing on its 20th-anniversary celebration for the Caliber 9R, Grand Seiko has released two limited-edition timepieces: the SBGA499 and SBGY035. Both references are rendered with radiant red-colored dials inspired by the ephemeral morning glow of the Hotaka mountain range.
As part of the Elegance Collection, the SBGA499 is attired in a 40.2mm-wide stainless steel case. Evoking the radiant red glow of its inspiration, the dial comes in a sun-brushed finish, while copper pink accents nod to the golden morning sunlight. Limited to 1,300 pieces, the timepiece has a price tag of $5,800 USD.
Meanwhile, the 700-piece limited-edition SBGY035 will retail at $8,500 USD. Its dial showcases a deeper and moodier red gradient, topped with Grand Seiko’s signature textured patterns that reflect the rugged surfaces of the Hotaka mountains. Similarly, a touch of copper pink adorns the central seconds hand and GS logo, bringing to mind a scenery that’s basked in warm hues at sunrise.
The SBGA499 is set to release in November, while the SBGY035 will begin to hit the shelves starting September. Both models will be available through Grand Seiko’s boutiques and authorized retailers. Visit the brand’s official website for more information.
