Bad Bunny is officially the latest star to join Darren Aronfsky‘s upcoming new crime thriller Caught Stealing. Benito joins Zoë Kravitz and Austin Butler in the Sony Pictures film adaptation of Charlie Huston’s novel of the same name.
So far, production has not confirmed exactly which character Bad Bunny will play but Austin Butler is expected to play Hank Thompson, of which the story follows. According to the film synopsis, the story “follows Hank Thompson (Butler), a burned-out former baseball player, as he’s unwittingly plunged into a wild fight for survival in the downtown criminal underworld of ’90s NYC.” This is not the first time Bad Bunny has done an acting role. His first role landed him on Narcos: Mexico where he played Arturo “Kitty” Páez in four episodes. He also starred alongside Brad Pitt as an assassin named Wolf in Bullet Train, another film from Sony Pictures. Most recently, he portrayed Felipe in Cassandro. Racking up his entertainment feats, the Puerto Rican artist is also serving as a producer on Netflix’s adaptation of The Both Die at the End which is based on Adam Silvera’s novel of the same name.
Aronfsky previously announced that he was working on an Elon Musk biopic with A24 while Zoë Kravitz recently made her directorial debut with Blink Twice and Austin Butler recently starred Dune: Part Two and The Bikeriders. At the time of writing, Caught Stealing does not have a release date just yet.
