Air Jordan 12 "Taxi" Expected to Return in 2025
In identical packaging to the original 1996 model.
The beloved Air Jordan 12 “Taxi” is gearing up for a grand return in 2025.
The yellow cab-inspired sneaker model, which was first released in 1996, is adored among sneaker enthusiasts for its significant place in basketball history. Notably, Michael Jordan sported the “Taxi” edition while leading the Chicago Bulls to victory during the 1996-1997 NBA season, etching the silhouette into footwear’s hall of fame.
Aside from its cultural cachet, the shoe makes quite the spectacle on its own: the design’s white leather upper is accented by a black mudguard, outsole and heel, while gold eyelets and the outsole’s yellow carbon fiber plate nod to its taxi cab blueprint. Zooming in, the Jumpman logo appears on the tongue in black, and a red “23” resides on the heel.
The model is expected to return with some modern renovations, though it will resemble the original version as closely as possible. Moreover, the forthcoming sneaker will arrive in identical packaging to the 1996 edition.
The 2025 Air Jordan 12 “Taxi” is expected to be released online and in Jordan Brand retailers during the Fall/Holiday 2024 season. The shoe will reportedly come in full family sizes, and the adult version will be priced at $215 USD. Take a look at the design in the gallery above.
