Bad Bunny is officially booked, busy, and heading to infinity and beyond. Amid his ongoing tour, the Grammy-winning global music superstar—born Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio—has just added a massive Pixar blockbuster to his growing acting resume. Disney and Pixar recently announced that the Puerto Rican hitmaker is joining the voice cast of the highly anticipated Toy Story 5, taking on the hilariously quirky role of a character simply named “Pizza with Sunglasses.”
Pixar formally introduced the new character to fans via a short animated teaser on social media, showcasing a literal slice of pepperoni pizza wearing black shades, bouncing and laughing. According to the official press release, Bad Bunny’s character is described as “effortlessly cool and mysterious.” The slice of pizza belongs to a “small but mighty community of forgotten toys that live in an abandoned backyard shed,” adding a fresh layer of comedic relief and attitude to the beloved franchise.
For die-hard fans of the “Tití Me Preguntó” singer, this casting feels like the ultimate full-circle moment. During the early days of the 2020 pandemic lockdown, Bad Bunny entertained his social media followers by creating his own homemade cinematic universe using his personal collection of Woody, Buzz Lightyear, Rex, and Forky figures. Dubbed “Toy Story in the Times of Coronavirus,” the charming, low-fidelity clips made his genuine love for the franchise crystal clear, making this official voice cameo a perfect fit.
The Puerto Rican star joins a massively stacked ensemble. Toy Story 5 will bring back legacy legends Tom Hanks (Woody), Tim Allen (Buzz Lightyear), and Joan Cusack (Jessie). They will be joined by a fresh crop of newcomers, including Greta Lee as a tech-toy tablet named Lilypad, Conan O’Brien as a potty-training toy named Smarty Pants, and Craig Robinson as a GPS hippo named Atlas. The sequel’s plot reportedly centers around the classic toys fighting for Bonnie’s attention against the modern allure of iPads and smart devices.
While Bad Bunny has already proven his acting chops in live-action projects like Bullet Train, his recent Saturday Night Live appearances, and the upcoming Happy Gilmore 2, his Pixar debut is sure to introduce his signature swagger to an entirely new demographic. Fans will get to see “Pizza with Sunglasses” in action when Toy Story 5 hits theaters globally on June 19, 2026.
