McLaren Unveils the Artura Trophy EVO
Alongside the launch of the Pro driver category for 2025 McLaren Trophy championships.
McLaren has unveiled the new Artura Trophy EVO, set to electrify the McLaren Trophy championships starting from the 2025 season. This new race car brings significant upgrades in power, grip and driver engagement, while the introduction of a new Pro driver category and the McLaren Trophy Academy aims to elevate the racing experience to new heights.
The Artura Trophy EVO, a formidable evolution of its predecessor, boasts a 3.0L twin-turbo V6 engine, now delivering a highly capable 620 hp thanks to a new “Push to Pass” feature. This system, designed to provide strategic overtaking opportunities, exemplifies McLaren’s commitment to enhancing driver engagement and competitive edge on the track.
In addition to the power boost, the Artura Trophy EVO features wider tires and revised suspension for increased mechanical grip, alongside a striking new aerodynamic design. The car’s aggressive stance is highlighted by a modified front bumper, hood outlet and wider wheel arches, all contributing to improved cooling and reduced lift.
The new Pro category, open to Silver solo or Silver/Silver pairings, aims to foster the next generation of GT racing stars. Young drivers enrolled in this category will automatically join the McLaren Trophy Academy, where they will receive training in driving skills, motorsport engineering and media handling. The top performers will earn a spot at the annual McLaren Young Driver Shoot Out, with the ultimate goal of joining the prestigious McLaren Factory Driver program.
As the McLaren Trophy expands to North America in 2025, the Artura Trophy EVO and its accompanying initiatives mark a new chapter for the brand’s presence in global GT racing.
