Breitling Unveils Three 140th-anniversary Limited-Edition Watches
Featuring several of its flagship models and including its first exclusive perpetual calendar chronograph movement.
Breitling is marking its 140th anniversary with the launch of three exclusive timepieces, each equipped with the brand’s new Caliber B19 movement. This move is part of Breitling’s ongoing celebration, “140 Years of Firsts,” showcasing its history of innovation in watchmaking.
The Caliber B19 is Breitling’s first perpetual calendar chronograph movement, capable of maintaining accuracy for nearly a century without major adjustments. It features a full calendar, moonphase and a 96-hour power reserve, setting a new benchmark for the brand.
Notably, the limited-edition watches — Premier B19 Datora 42, Navitimer B19 Chronograph 43 and Super Chronomat B19 44 — each highlight a different chapter of Breitling’s storied past. These models are designed to commemorate the company’s most iconic collections, with each piece crafted in solid 18k red gold and limited to just 140 units.
The Premier B19 Datora 42 continues the legacy of the 1943 original, combining elegant design with functional chronograph features. The Navitimer B19 Chronograph 43, first introduced in 1952, retains its iconic slide rule, celebrated for its utility among pilots and astronauts. The Super Chronomat B19 44, initially launched in 1983, is noted for its robust design, enhanced by a skeletonized dial — a first for Breitling.
Each anniversary edition is presented in a luxury watch box and accompanied by a personalized copy of the book Breitling: 140 Years in 140 Stories. With these releases, Breitling not only honors its heritage but also sets the stage for future innovations. CEO Georges Kern emphasizes the significance of this launch, stating, “This is about being as groundbreaking as our 140 years of firsts demand.”
