Anime lovers and sneaker fans are coming together for the upcoming Naruto: Shippuden and ASICS GEL-NYC collaboration. Honing in on some of the biggest moments of Naruto: Shippuden, the shoe’s “Final Arc” colorway tugs at the emotional heartstrings, giving a nod to the battle of the final Pain arc. The shoe is designed by Sébastian Abdelhamid and takes inspiration from the show’s key characters and scenes. More specifically, the bold, fiery orange and black accents take on Naruto’s iconic aesthetic, while the color palette mimics the dramatic scens in the show’s final episodes. Ninja-focused and meant as a love letter to anime’s fans, the shoe features a lacelock that is inspired by the scroll that the iconic character carries on his back and the tongue features the Uzumaki clan logo, symbol of the Konoha ninja village. Look out for the upcoming ASICS collaboration arriving at HYPLAND’s Little Tokyo store on August 31. The pair is limited to only 200.
