Update: It’s an exciting year for fans of Kevin Durant’s signature shoe line with Nike as the KD 4 continues to return in some of its most popular looks. After next month’s drop of the “Weatherman” pair, the collaborative “Nerf” colorway is on its way back. Now revealed in its entirety by the Swoosh, the recreation stays true to its source material while the shoe box pays homage to the special packaging that accompanied the original pair. He’s about to pass Shaquille O’Neal to secure the 8th spot on the league’s all-time scoring list, needing just nine points to successfully do so. At the same time, he has has continued to thrive off the court as well, teaming up with Nike Basketball to not only bring forth the Nike KD 16 this season, but to return to the Nike KD 4 as well. Bringing back pairs like the sought-after “Galaxy” and “Weatherman” looks, fans have enjoyed the silhouette’s comeback season.
Now, what is one of the most legendary colorways from all 16 of Durant’s signature shoes has finally been spotted in its 2024 form. Teaming up with Hasbro’s foam-based brand Nerf, the Nike KD 4 “Nerf” is expected to hit shelves once again this summer, 13 years after its initial drop. Its brief preview sees all of the shoe’s original detailing return to the sneaker — from the multicolored arrangement to special spray paint-inspired co-branding across the two tongues. However, it’s currently unknown if the shoe will be accompanied by its special packaging this time around.
