Porsche Expands Its All-Electric Macan Lineup with Two New Models
Including a rear-wheel-drive example and high-performance Macan 4S.
Porsche has expanded its all-electric Macan lineup with two new models, doubling the range of their popular SUV series. The introduction of the rear-wheel-drive Macan and the high-performance Macan 4S aims to provide customers with more choice in the electric vehicle market.
The rear-wheel-drive Macan serves as the new entry-level model, emphasizing efficiency and range. It features a 100 kWh high-voltage battery and a rear-axle motor, delivering 250 kW (340 hp). The vehicle achieves a combined WLTP range of up to 400 miles, making it an ideal option for those prioritizing longer distances. Its lightweight design, 240 pounds lighter than the Macan 4, contributes to its efficiency, while its 415 lb-ft of torque ensures a 0-60 mph sprint of 5.7 seconds.
Meanwhile, the Macan 4S fills the gap between the Macan 4 and Macan Turbo. Equipped with Porsche Traction Management (ePTM) and a powerful 600-amp SiC pulse inverter, it boasts a system output of 330 kW (448 hp) and an overboost power of 380 kW (516 hp). The Macan 4S reaches 60 mph 4.1 seconds and has a limited top speed of 150 mph, with a combined WLTP range of up to 370 miles. Standard features include Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM), adaptive air suspension and rear-axle steering, enhancing both performance and comfort.
