Victoria Monét Is Otherworldly in “Alright” Music Video

Last August Victoria Monét released her debut studio album, Jaguar II, which later won the GRAMMYs for Best New Artist, Best R&B Album and Best Engineered Album, Non-Classical at the 66th annual GRAMMY Awards. Even though Monét has been in the music industry for a bit with previous EPs Jaguar, Life After Love Pt.1, Life After Love, Pt.2 and more, the debut project is taking the artist to new heights. So to continue building out her standout project, Monét has released the music video for “Alright.”
Given summer’s just around the corner, crafting the music video for “Alright” is a fitting choice given the track’s upbeat, dance-floor-ready cadence. But what helped cement its personality is that the song was written by Victoria Monét and KAYTRANADA and produced by KAYTRANADA.
In the Dave Meyers-directed video, Monét starts as an otherworldly figure, dressed head to toe in silver with blue eyes. But across her slew of looks that span alien-like silver, a crisp “Smooth Criminal” ensemble, white clothes and sexy knitwear, Monét continues to prove that alongside her vocal skills, she’s an excellent dancer – leveling up with each music video she releases.
