This past March, Ariana Grande released her seventh studio album Eternal Sunshine, which comes three years after her previous work Positions. Clocking in at 36 minutes, the 13-song album is a short, but sweet project that remains why Grande is one of the leading voices in pop music. So to keep building out the album’s footprint, Ariana Grande has released a music video for the track “the boy is mine.”

In a tale of admiration, the video follows Grande making a special love potion for Mayor Max Sterling, who is played by Gossip Girl and You forerunner, Penn Badgley. But aside from Badgley, one of the key highlights in the music video is the cameo from Brandy and Monica, who appear as newscasters. It’s fitting that Grande include the celebrated vocalists given their 90s hit song “The Boy Is Mine,” which remained at No.1 on the Billboard Hot 100 for 13 weeks alongside winning the GRAMMY Award for Best R&B Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals in 1999.

In the end, Mayor Max Sterling wants Grande’s character whose dressed in a Catwoman-esque suit, without using the love potion.

Take a look at Ariana Grande’s music video for “the boy is mine” above.
