Ahead of the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris later this summer, Assouline has crafted a comprehensive book to celebrate the world-renowned sporting event’s biggest moments.

Titled The Last Heroes: 100 Moments of Olympics Legend, the binding captures the “emotional and suspenseful scenes that make the Games so riveting,” from Jesse Owens’ historic wins at the 1936 Berlin Games to Jim Redmond helping his injured son, Derek, cross the 400-meter finish line at the 1992 Barcelona Games.

The book includes captivating photography from each of the 100 featured moments, alongside contextual blurbs authored by French journalists Olivier Margot (former editor-in-chief of  L’Équipe and L’Équipe Magazine) and Étienne Bonamy (a prominent Olympics writer and another former editor-in-chief of L’Équipe). Notably, the hard-copy binding houses more than 100 illustrations, too.

Additionally, Assouline has made an Ultimate Collection edition of the book, which is limited to a run of just 100 copies. The high-end script features a clamshell case adorned with a custom-designed medal from the first modern Olympic Games.

Assouline’s The Last Heroes: 100 Moments of Olympics Legendis now available to pre-order on the brand’s webstore. The classic edition of the book is going for $120 USD, while the Ultimate Collection edition is priced at $2,750 USD. Take a peek inside via the gallery above.
