Assouline has officially introduced The Library Collection: Game Room, reimagining classic parlor and tabletop games into luxurious collectible objects. Expanding the publisher’s curated library accessories, the five-piece suite marries classic leisure with artisanal savoir-faire, utilizing rich walnut, pebbled leathers, brushed brass, and soft polysuede accents across a signature palette of red, camel, brown, and stone.
Anchoring the collection is the Empire Chess Set ($2,500 USD), constructed from rich walnut and brushed brass with an inlaid pebbled leather playing board and soft polysuede underlays. The board features integrated removable storage drawers and sculptural, heavyweight aluminum chess pieces accented with brass, highlighted by a queen’s crown inspired by Jean-Michel Basquiat’s iconic motifs. The Pebble Backgammon Set ($2,250 USD) comes encased in a solid walnut box featuring an inlaid leather board, leather-wrapped checkers with brass detailing, and dice hand-painted in Assouline’s signature palette.
The assortment extends into compact and social formats with the Library Tic-Tac-Toe Set ($750 USD), crafted from walnut and pebbled leather with playing pieces that include brass and wood markers alongside O pieces shaped like miniature books. Rounding out the range are the Pebble Domino Set ($650 USD), which houses oversized inlaid leather tiles with recessed walnut pips beneath a pebble-shaped brass handle, and the Pebble Playing Card Set ($450 USD), featuring two gold-gilded decks decorated with Didot typography and book-juggling jokers enclosed in a slide-out leather case.
The collection is now available online.
