SOUTH2 WEST8 SS25 Outfits a "Tenkara" Fly Fishing Trip
With multi-pocketed technical jackets, camouflage cargo pants, net face coverings and more.
Japanese fashion brand SOUTH2 WEST8—named after the street corners of its Sapporo flagship store—has strong roots in fly-fishing. More specifically, the label’s design codes are largely inspired by “Tenkara,” the traditional Japanese technique that uses long rods, light lines and flies to catch fish. Building on this current season’s serious utilitarianism, the outdoorsy imprint has crafted a full lineup of functional garments to take to the waters for Spring/Summer 2025.
Constructed to blend in with nature, much of the collection is covered in landscape-inspired camouflage patterns. Thick technical jackets boast ample pockets and hooks to hold all sorts of gear, while matching trousers similarly host roomy compartments for maximal storage. Bomber iterations include zippered pockets that extend from the chest to the waist, and external hoods feature nets that fall over the face to fend off insects.
Down the line, pattern-clad tracksuits, which often appear with matching bucket hats, prioritize comfort while out on a fishing trip. Pocket tees boast striped finishes with simple logo work on the chest, and lightweight cargo pants employ adjustable waistbands to ensure they can hold the weight of their wearer’s essentials. Notably, the collection also includes a roll-over backpack, which dons two leather buckles to secure its contents over the shoulders.
