Netflix is reviving one of MTV’s hit shows from the early-aughts. The streamer will be offering a fresh take on the car makeover series Pimp My Ride with Resurrected Rides.

The original Pimp My Ride ran for six seasons between 2004 and 2007 and spawned several spinoffs, including a series dedicated to solely pickup trucks. The contemporary iteration of the show will be hosted by the comedian and SNL alum Chris Redd, alongside a team of mechanics.

While the original show was criticized for allegedly faking several elements of the show – some accused MTV of actually renting the houses that supposedly belonged to the show’s participants. Other participants said that their cars could no longer run after receiving the cosmetic enhancements.

Resurrected Rides will take a more comedic approach to the car makeovers. Executive producers Rick Hurvitz and Ari Shofet from Pimp My Ride will return to produce the new series.

“We took the spirit and knowledge from the original [series] and reimagined it with a hilarious host, brand-new cast, plus the eye-popping technology and culture of today,” Hurvitz said.

Resurrected Rides premieres on Netflix on July 24.
