Update: At last, the new “Lucky Shorts” colorway of the Air Jordan 3 is nearly here. Inspired by Michael Jordan’s special pair of practice shorts from college that he’d wear underneath his Chicago Bulls uniform, the colorway appears in white with UNC blue detailing. From there, a special care tag-inspired tag underneath the tongue ties the theme together. Release remains set to take place on February 22 at a price of $200 USD via Nike SNKRS and select retailers. Enjoy a complete look at the pair above and revisit our initial breakdowns below for more info.

Update: Looking ahead to 2025, all eyes may be on the Air Jordan 1 and its 40th anniversary celebration, but the Air Jordan 3 is poised to have a solid year too. The return of the “Black Cat” and “Pure Money” colorways offers all-black and all-white looks respectively while a new colorway dubbed the “Lucky Shorts” pair has just surfaced after being rumored back in June. Its actual color blocking isn’t far from the mock-up provided previously as a white leather upper is joined by gray suede at the mudguard and a light blue at the heel’s Jumpman branding and a portion of the midsole. Release is now expected to take place on February 22 of next year via Nike SNKRS and select retailers at a starting price of $200 USD.

Original Story: As Jordan Brand rapidly approaches its 40th anniversary, the label continues to explore all of the intricacies of Michael Jordan’s career and his corresponding lore. One notable superstition of his was that a pair of University of North Carolina practice shorts brought him good luck to each game. Wearing them underneath his uniform during games, even when playing for the Chicago Bulls in the NBA, it was one of his game day rituals.

Now, the Jumpman team is looking to spotlight this fun part of his legacy by crafting a “Lucky Shorts”-themed pair of Air Jordan 3s, according to a new rumor from zSneakerHeadz. While we’ve yet to see any in-hand photos of the pair (a speculative mock-up is depicted above), it’s said to sport a color arrangement of “Summit White,” “Hydrogen Blue,” “Legend Blue,” “Photon Dust,” “Pure Platinum” and “Sail.”

At the time of writing, Jordan Brand has not confirmed whether or not this “Lucky Shorts” colorway of the Air Jordan 3 will be releasing. Stay tuned for updates, including a first look at the pair later this year, as we currently expect the sneaker to land on shelves next spring via Nike SNKRS and select retailers around the $210 USD price point.
