Commemorating the Summer ’24 collection titled “Delusional Daydream”, Hypebeast has teamed up with CELINE to spotlight some key pieces from this season’s offering.
Since being appointed in 2018, Hedi Slimane has revisited the heritage House’s iconic legacy to present contemporary takes on its most prized designs, releasing drop after drop of highly coveted pieces. Delving into his own archives, he brings to light several visual projects he composed in the early ‘00s — namely Delusional Daydream which documented a new art scene emerging in New York. The “Delusional Daydream” collection reimagines this idea by dedicating the show to the young and vibrant music scene in New York today.
Through the use of sleek tailoring and an array of leather pieces such as the Romy Bag, CELINE takes inspiration from elevated staple looks that define Slimane’s DNA as a designer. The collection expands on seasonal essentials that highlight bold shapes, neutral color palettes, and a range of accessories designed for the warmer months. A focus on high-quality hardware and luxury fabric compositions also hone in on the house’s unapologetic statement-making.
The accompanying campaign, produced by Hypebeast, channels how confident and bold fashion choices can help break through the mundane – personified via the backdrop of a quintessential office setting.

CARDIGAN JACKET IN BRUSHED ARGYLE MOHAIR
Over the last few years, the demand for the perfect mohair cardigan has risen astronomically.
A mohair cardigan offers a timeless, tactile quality unlike many other items on the market; perfect when paired up with a vintage band tee and some tight jeans for a killer, off-kilter ‘fit.
While the humble fuzzy cardi offers an effortless level of comfort and cool, it’s also an item that is quite hard to get right.

The Romy Canvas Bag from CELINE’s latest collection hits the mark perfectly with its classic look, generous capacity, and adjustable strap.
Above all the features, I love how the shape of the Romy is clean-cut yet super relaxed, providing a contrast from the ridged curve handbags that are popular today. What gives the bag its soft and sumptuous look is the Triomphe canvas material, making it easy to sling over any jacket or crisp shirt without becoming a nuisance throughout the day. Another stand-out feature for me is the signature Celine emblem printed in light brown. Against the black components, it gives the bag that quiet luxury touch whilst maintaining its all-round versatility.

Arriving in a classic black and white monochromatic colorway, this versatile silhouette lives up to its name and has to get an honorable mention. With the ability to be dressed up or down, however you see fit – from a pair of straight-fit jeans or loose-fitting sweatpants to a full blazer and trouser look — these loafers will elevate any outfit. Crafted from a bull skin upper and goatskin lining, the shoes instantly give a luxury feel when you slide your feet in, and that unbeatable quality material composition will only add more character with wear, and time.
The cherry on top of the overall design is the metal hardware on the buckle that marries together to create the House’s iconic interlocked Triomphe emblem – a finishing touch to make the statement loafer more striking than it already is.
