Madhappy Opens Tokyo Outpost Inside the Ba-Tsu Art Gallery
Dubbed the “Tokyo Concept Shop.”
Madhappy has opened up its first global storefront. The Los Angeles-based lifestyle outfitter has opened its doors to its first-ever storefront in Japan – what it’s calling the “Tokyo Concept Shop” – inside Tokyo’s Ba-Tsu Art Gallery.
Open now, the store – also adorned with “office Madhappy” signs – is situated in the Shibuya City area of Tokyo. The store is stacked with the label’s latest apparel collection as well as its tried-and-true staples and Campus Classics.
However it’s not just clothing that the Tokyo Concept Shop houses. Madhappy’s “Local Optimist” magazine is stocked in glass tables in the entryway; the latest issue of “Local Optimist” marks the second-ever edition. At the back of the store, Madhappy’s “Pantry” – a concept the label first introduced in its Los Angeles flagship location that opened back in November – provides a plethora of snacks and treats.

While it’s clear the “concept shop” is more than just a hub of Madhappy merch, it’s still unclear what else the label plans to do at the new storefront. Madhappy shared the below video on Instagram that might hint at what we can expect: an “performance” by Yagi Exhibition yo-yo-ers.
