Jake Gyllenhaal Stars in Prada Luna Rossa Documentary Campaign
Titled ‘Beyond the Line,’ the three-part project sees the actor hop aboard the Prada Pirelli Team’s Luna Rossa boat.
Jake Gyllenhaal is the leading man in a three-part documentary campaign for Prada’s new Luna Rossa Ocean men’s fragrance, titled Beyond the Line. Directed by Nicolas Davenel and Vanessa Dumont, the project, due out in full on April 10, follows the actor as he explores the Prada Pirelli Team’s Luna Rossa boat.
Upon filming, Gyllenhaal told WWD that he was given the following instructions: “You will be the eyes and ears of most of us in the world trying to figure out the magnificent way in which these people have designed this boat, then you’re going to get on the boat. And at the very end, we’re going to give you the controls, and hopefully you’ll do a good job. Just keep it in a straight line.”

The actor assimilated with the high-speed team, engaging in their training sessions, learning about their boat’s operations and wearing his very own “Gyllenhaal”-branded Prada sailing gear. Of his experience on the squad’s boat, he said, “It feels like you’re flying. Harnessing the wind, as old as that notion is, is faster than anything.”
Gyllenhaal first signed on as the face of Prada Luna Rossa Ocean in 2021. Today, his role has expanded to also include the newly-minted Luna Rossa Ocean Le Parfum, which was concocted by Anne Flipo and Carlos Benaïm.
Yann Andrea, Prada Beauty’s international general manager, told WWD that the scent’s new campaign looks to go “back to the franchise’s roots, which are deeply embedded in the world of sailing and high performance.”
