In gearing up for Earth Day, G-SHOCK has unveiled the G5600BG-1, a limited-edition timepiece dedicated to the annual event in supporting and advocating for environmental protection. Supporting a good cause doesn’t mean there needs to be compromise on design and character. This new watch aligns with the brand’s ongoing efforts in promoting sustainability while also upholding its pursuit of developing new materials, finishes and colors.

The bezel and band of the G5600BG-1 are crafted from recycled resin, which has been sourced from residual scraps in the production of CASIO’s watches. The repurposed scraps boast a mix of colors that range from red, matte black and yellow, all finely shredded and thoroughly mixed to create a unique pattern and multicolored look.

G-SHOCK’s Tough Solar technology has also been incorporated into this special edition reference, which allows it to be charged by both sunlight and artificial light sources. The timepiece is complete with many essential features that are expected of a G5600 model and comes in eco-friendly packaging.

The limited-edition G5600BG-1 is now available online and in-stores at G-SHOCK as well as select retailers, retailing for $150 USD.
